EDDIES ON DATE!!!

Image
hey everybody!  this week I was able to see so many little miracles. it showed me how God really is in the details of our lives and he's ALWAYS up to something good. stories-  towards the beginning of this week I was feeling a little discouraged because Daryl who we thought was progressing hasn't been and nobody seemed to care about learning the gospel. and then something CRAZY happened. we went to Eddie and Rockys apartment one night and Eddie was the only one around so we just taught him. ever since we started teaching him I've really felt like Eddie has this desire to grow his faith and has a strong testimony. we started teaching him about the different ways he can come closer to christ and then we got into talking about baptism. he told us how much he wanted to be baptized and how he knew it could change his life. we kept talking and I felt like it was the right time to invite him to be baptized and so we did!!!! Dec 18th can't come soon enough I am SO excited for h...

Be Where Your Feet Are

hola!!  2nd week in the field and it's been pretty tough but im just taking it day by day. I learned a lot of valuable lessons this week and the one that's helped me the most is "be where your feet are" sister horton (in our ward) shared this with me and said that the best thing you can do is focus on what you're doing RIGHT NOW. I think for anyone (me especially) I'm always looking towards the future and what's next but if we can just try to focus on the present moment we really can learn to enjoy it.  stories- some awesome people we're teaching right now are Eddie and Rocky. they're these old guys who are roommates and they don't really get along so sometimes they'll start arguing in the middle of the lessons... kinda awkward for us. but they are actually hilarious and the last lesson we had with them Rocky said the prayer and while he was praying he goes "God sorry for Eddie being Eddie" all of us couldn't stop laughing. lo...

VIVA LAS VEGAS

whats up people!! first week in the field and I have felt ALL the feels. I'm in a trio and my comps are hermana bastedo and hermana fletcher. the area is right by the las vegas temple. it's pretty cuz we can see all the city lights but it also has some sketchy parts. I'm in more of an english speaking area right now which is kinda hard because it feels like I'll NEVER learn spanish but it made my first week a little easier teaching in english so it's all good.  we had sooo many lessons this week it was kinda overwhelming. im seeing a whole side of vegas I've never seen before... definitely some crazy people here! we have so many people who are interested but just won't commit to reading or praying. so pray for miracles guys!!!  couple funny stories-  one morning we decided to go on a run and we set our phones right outside our apt (which was our dumb fault.. forget I'm not in Utah anymore hahah) and our crazy neigbor was walking around picking up trash l...

Hola familia y amigos,     This is my last week in the CCM and then I'm headed to Vegas baby!! the past month went by sooo fast, but im forever grateful for my experience here in mexico and all the things I was able to learn.     The theme that we heard over and over again here was MEJOR, MAS SANTO, MAS ALTO! "better, holier, higher" I know I definitely came out of the mtc feeling better, holier and higher!!      Some of my favorite memories were going to the mexico city temple, gym time (always the best part of the day lol), making new friendships, celebrating día de los muertos, attempting to speak Spanish all day.. or maybe 20 minutes a day, IT'S HARD haha!! and most importantly strengthening my testimony of the gospel!     Scripture of the week: D&C 76:60 - Super simple but the director of the CCM came and taught our class this week and he explained with this scripture how lucky we are to have the gospel in our lives and how God can h...
