Image
hola a todos  wowowow already onto another transfer... time is flying by!! I'm leaving the sweet desert bloom branch and going to another branch alta vista!!! I've loved my time here in desert bloom and the people here will forever hold a BIG place in my heart. this week I studied a really cool talk from elder holland about missionary work and he shared a quote i loveee "I am convinced that missionary work is not easy because salvation is not a cheap experience. Salvation never was easy. We are The Church of Jesus Christ, this is the truth, and He is our Great Eternal Head. How could we believe it would be easy for us when it was never, ever easy for Him?"  some highlights this week were chalo showing up to church in a white shirt and getting the priesthood, having a "thanksgiving dinner" in August, teaching english, hitting months 11/7 & 7/11, and finding a couple new friends to teach. Everyone pleaseee pray for the desert bloom branch and now my new br...

Grateful In All Things

hellloooo my people  we had some awesome miracles this week and we were able to meet some people that are genuinely interested in the gospel!! • we had the sweetest lesson with our friend nelly and she wants to be baptized but her husband won't let her:( please pray for this ladys esposo to soften his heart!!!  • elda is reading the book of mormon on her own now which is a HUGE step • we started teaching 2 people from part member families, Simon and Jared, it's an awesome thing being able to teach people the importance of eternal families • the past couple weeks have been a little difficult but I really just studied the importance of gratitude this week and I've been so much happier. President Uchdorf gave a talk on gratitude and said, "I’m suggesting that instead of being thankful for things, we focus on being thankful in our circumstances—whatever they may be." we need to be grateful for it ALL, the easy and the hard times!  love you allll, chao  ♡ hermana spei...

1% Better Everyday♡

heyooo  lots of time spent with other missionaries this week at zone conf,  pday activities, services, district council + more. but I was able to learn so much from so many amazing missionaries this week. our mission is focusing a lot on becoming more consecrated missionaries and we all had to find our favorite scripture about consecration.      I love D&C 4:2 • "Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day" lately I'm really learning what it means to serve with all my heart, might, mind and strength. missions are HARD but all God asks of us on a mission and really in life is to just do the best we can and keep improving little by little, 1% everyday!      CON AMOR ♡ hermana speirs  8/15/22

La Obra Misional

HEY ALL!!  not tons to update on this week.... went to the hoover dam probably the coolest thing here in Vegas hahaha, had exchanges with other sisters for the day, chalo and his whole fam came to church and it was SO happy. We're starting to teach his wife elda now who is not the easiest to teach but I know she'll come around. We taught a book of mormon class to some of the youth in our stake this week and it was all about ether 12 so the biggest thing I learned was having faith through the hard times and letting God make our weaknesses into strengths!! Ether 12:27 "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." Allow God to make your weaknesses into strengths!!!  Los quiero, chao!!  ♡ hermana speirs  8/8/22

La Caridad Es El Amor Puro De Cristo

hola hola  the past week I've been studying charity a lot!!! in district Council we studied the story of Jesus raising lazarus from the dead in john 11. And my favorite verses 35&36 say, "Jesus wept. Then said the jews, behold how he loved them." This was right before Jesus raised lazarus and he was mourning and having empathy for the people. Jesus is the perfect example of having charity and empathy. this taught me a lot because the past couple weeks have been difficult with the people we're teaching but as I come to have charity and empathy for them it makes ALL the difference.  the past month we've been teaching this 18yr old kid erick and his story is pretty cool. he moved here from mexico 6 months ago and we first tried teaching his mom and she never answered and then one day he picked up her phone and ever since then we've been teaching him and he's been coming to church every week. He's changed his whole life around and I know he's going...
