hey everybody!! I somehow survived my 1st Christmas away from home... it's a miracle;) this week was harder then others not being with my family for the holidays and not being a part of all our fun traditions. buttt I've been able to learn what christmas is all about. "to love people, to be indispensable somewhere, that is the purpose of life. that is the secret to happiness." (J. Edgar Park) Christmas time is all about loving and giving to others. I've really been able to focus on loving the people I'm with, loving who I'm teaching, and I know as we focus on loving people and trying to constantly become more like Jesus Christ we will find SO much joy in this life!! we finally heard from Eddie and he's getting the help he needs right now in a different area in the mission. we were able to refer him to the elders there and he's still being taught. so I'm SO happy and hopefully in the future he'll be able to get baptized we had a lesson with ...

holaaaa!! the past week I've really been able to focus on the true meaning of Christmas and the importance of jesus christ in my life. I know Christmas time really is the best when we focus on our savior and serving others! that's where we'll find the most happiness!  storiessss: first Daryl is doing awesome right now but he's a huge overthinker so he thinks he has to be perfect to be baptized but we're really working with him right now and he loves this gospel so I can't wait to see how the next couple weeks go!  bad news... this week we could not get ahold of Eddie and we finally went and knocked his door and his roommate answered the door and told us he moved away. he moved without even saying anything??? so we're super sad about that and can't teach him anymore:(  we taught english at centro hispaño and we're teaching this guy named Patricio who is SO hilarious! we told him we liked his turtleneck and he thought we said can we see your neck? so h...

hola a todos!! this week I learned about the importance of listening to the spirit. I found out a place in my area called "the browns" is the ROUGHEST area in Vegas. one night we went over there and as soon as we got out of the car we all looked at each other and felt the prompting to "leave now" so we ran back to the car. not sure what would've happened if we stayed but I know by staying close to the spirit we'll always have a direction and protection with us♡ we got to go to the temple for elizas first time to do baptisms! Eliza moved here from Africa a year ago and she speaks arabic. In the year that she's been here she's gotten baptized and is learning English! she's so awesome! we found some stuff out about Eddie from his past and it's gonna be a couple months until he can be baptized but we're still working with him and he's progressing a lot! holaaaa everybody!! something I've learned this week is that no matter how far we go off the path in this life we can ALWAYS find our way back. "It is not possible for you to sink lower than the infinite light of Christ's atonement shines." I've met lots of people here who've fallen off the path and had hard times in their lives but all of them find their way back to God and to his gospel. God is waiting with open arms for his people to come back to him! storiesss: good news, Daryl is back and finally talked to us after we fasted with him about getting baptized.
