Look To God And Live
hey everybody!!
I somehow survived my 1st Christmas away from home... it's a miracle;) this week was harder then others not being with my family for the holidays and not being a part of all our fun traditions. buttt I've been able to learn what christmas is all about. "to love people, to be indispensable somewhere, that is the purpose of life. that is the secret to happiness." (J. Edgar Park) Christmas time is all about loving and giving to others. I've really been able to focus on loving the people I'm with, loving who I'm teaching, and I know as we focus on loving people and trying to constantly become more like Jesus Christ we will find SO much joy in this life!!
we finally heard from Eddie and he's getting the help he needs right now in a different area in the mission. we were able to refer him to the elders there and he's still being taught. so I'm SO happy and hopefully in the future he'll be able to get baptized
we had a lesson with Daryl on christmas eve and we brought him to a members house so they could teach with us. this old guy starts teaching Daryl and he told him if he doesn't get baptized he'll be damned, oh my it was not good!! we had to cut him off and be like no no it's okay!! Daryl showed up to church on Sunday though so luckily it didn't scare him away;)
highlight was exchanges with hermana jasso!! we bought elotes (a type of mexican corn) from a random lady making them in her little cart. hermana jasso is from mexico so to her this was soooo good and then I took one bite and my mouth was literally on fire for 5 hours. it was a good memory though hahah.
alma 37:47- look to god and live!! I know as we let everything we do be done for god and allow him to work through us he will help guide us to do the things we need to do and accomplish in this life. when our focus is on him he will always carry us through our hard times and help us get through them!
te amo y te extraño
