GG's Baptism

Image
hey everyoneeeee I learned a lot this week about tender mercies and how God is always in the details of our lives. I read a talk by elder david a. bednar and he said "tender mercies don't occur randomly or merely by coincidence. faithfulness, obedience, and humility invites tender mercies into our lives." ♡ tender mercies are always there and God is always wanting to bless us we just have to look for all the ways he's blessing us!!  GG got baptized this week it was so awesome!!! her and her family were late to the baptism so we had everything set up and we were kinda freaking out because nobody was showing up!!! but they finally did and it all worked out haha it was such a HAPPY day!  te quiero MUCHO!!!  ♡ hermana speirs  4/25/22

hola mi familia y amigos this week my focus was on jesus christ and his resurrection and it was SO awesome seeing what easter really is all about!! we're so lucky to have a savior who died for our sins and gives us the chance to live again♡ president uchdorf has a quote that says, "Easter is the day that changed everything." that is SO true and I hope everyone was able to take the time to remember Jesus christ this week we've been teaching elsa more this week but she has so many struggles and we're having a hard time getting her to want to come to church so everyone prayyyy she will have that desire!  GG is getting baptized this week and I'm so excited for her!!! it's been hard to get her parents to be on board but now that they are it's really happening and it's so happy!!!  we celebrated an elder in my district, Elder plumb's birthday this week and hna trujillo and I spent all morning making arepas (colombian food) and we get there, set it up...

Forget Yourself & Go To Work♡

hola everybody!! the past couple weeks in this new area have been kinda HARD. my spanish is barely getting by and we've been getting so many rejections but we had zone conference this week and I just had to be reminded that this work isn't about me!!! Sister Rodarte shared the story about President Hinckley on his mission, and it really is so importante to forget ourselves and go to work here on the mission because EVERYTHING here is on the Lord's timing and works out the way he wants it to. we had a miracle this week!!! we started teaching this lady Elsa. a couple years ago her son died and she's been struggling ever since. we were able to teach her the plan of salvation and as we got to telling her families are forever it was the best experience just seeing how happy she was!  we also started teaching this guy ismael and he wants to be baptized, he just has a few things holding him back but he came to church this week and loved it!!!! that's about all the updates ...

hola everybodyyyy! conference weekend was a little different this year, but it felt so special being a missionary and hearing all the leaders of our church share mission stories and experiences! I was a little worried about getting anything out of conference this time cuz I knew it'd be in spanish but woah DON DE LENGUAS really was there!!!  one of my favorite talks was elder Holland when we quoted, "fear not, believe only, for she shall be made whole and so shall you" it truly is the gospel of Jesus Christ that helps us to feel COMPLETE♡  funny story I was talking to my fam this week and they told me to talk in spanish so I asked como fue su día? and my mom goes you want a quesadilla?? welpp either my spanish isn't understandable or my fam needs to work on their spanish hahahah.  GG is getting baptized on april 23rd and I'm so excited for her!!!! it was hard getting her mom to commit to it but she finally did so they set a date wahooo ! for some reason we keep te...
