CHALO!!!!

Image
heyyyy everybody  this week I learned the importance of going out of my comfort zone. I was studying about the children of Israel in personal study and how they literally just had to rely on the Lord in everywhere they were going. "The lord was not teaching them how to be comfortable. He was teaching them how to follow him, and trust him new each day." A mission is not comfortable haha but i'm learning to rely on him EVERY step of the way!! Chalo got baptized and it was the most spirit filled baptism ever!! He looked like the happiest person ever and then I looked over at his wife and she had tears in her eyes! Her heart is definitely softening and I hope in the future she'll be ready to take this next step too. she also had her baby this week so we got to go to the hospital and see her and the baby another crazy story.... sooo the past couple weeks my comp and I have been feeling like we needed to drive to the bottom of our area which is primm on the border of cali, ...

Life Of A Missionary & Carlos's Baptism

Image
holaaa my favorite people!!  this week was absolutely crazy but I found so much joy in the work and we were able to have so many little miracles through all the crazy. some of the highlights were, having to give talks in spanish after being told the night before, teaching a seminary class, giving another talk at a baptism knowing the day of, but mi amigo carlos got baptized!!! Setting our new friend erick on date for baptism, getting doors slammed in our faces and cussed out, chalo's whole family coming to church, getting told to never say "ya" during lessons because it sounds unprofessional (super nice lady named Maria), making the elders drive 30 min to chalo's baptismal interview but chalo not showing up and then showing up 3 hours later so making the elders drive back, and having a fiesta with the branch. That's the life of a missionary and I'm feeling so grateful to be here. I love you all praying for you EVERYDAY ♡ hermana speirs  7/10/22

HAPPYYYY 4TH

Image
happy 4th of julyyyy everybody!! I learned a lot of life lessons this week but one most importantly was God doesn't expect us to know everything, he just expects us to try our best. I read a conf talk by elder uchdorf and he said, "remember, the Lord has never required expert, flawless missionary efforts. Instead, “the Lord requireth the heart and a willing mind.” We had a super cool experience with our new friend chalo this week. We found chalo about 3 weeks ago while area book calling and when we called him he had already been going to church and reading the book of mormon on his own, he was literally put directly in our path from God. This past week we had a lesson with him and he told us a story about how back in December he was in a really bad accident and had a life changing experience that led him to know that this church is true and he needs to be baptized. He chose his date to be baptized for July 14th so everybody pleaseeee pray for chalo, he's so ready but Satan...
