Be Where Your Feet Are

hola!!

2nd week in the field and it's been pretty tough but im just taking it day by day. I learned a lot of valuable lessons this week and the one that's helped me the most is "be where your feet are" sister horton (in our ward) shared this with me and said that the best thing you can do is focus on what you're doing RIGHT NOW. I think for anyone (me especially) I'm always looking towards the future and what's next but if we can just try to focus on the present moment we really can learn to enjoy it.

stories-
some awesome people we're teaching right now are Eddie and Rocky. they're these old guys who are roommates and they don't really get along so sometimes they'll start arguing in the middle of the lessons... kinda awkward for us. but they are actually hilarious and the last lesson we had with them Rocky said the prayer and while he was praying he goes "God sorry for Eddie being Eddie" all of us couldn't stop laughing. love these guys and they've been coming to church every Sunday so yay.

another guy we're teaching is Daryl. He is so awesome and wants to be baptized so much but he says if he's baptized his family will never talk to him again. On Thursday we were able to fast with him to try and help him see the importance of baptism and how it will bless him and his family. he felt so much peace while fasting but still hasn't decided so everyone PLEASE pray for him!!!

then there's Dionje... the first day I got here we started teaching dionje and he just has not been trying or having the desire so we had to let him go on Friday and it made me SO sad. Honestly felt like a breakup hahah. I really hope that one day he'll be ready to live the gospel because it would help him so much!

scripture of the week- d&c 6:36, this has been my go to this week when times are hard. I know as we make christ the center of our lives he will help us to "doubt not and fear not."
