Happy Thanksgiving

heyooo all my fav people!!
happy early thanksgiving!! the past week I've just been thinking about the past year on my mission and how grateful I am to be here! missions are HARD but I wouldn't trade the things I've learned or the relationships I've made with people for the world. we have transfers & I'm staying here AGAIN with hermana o'conner soo crazy but I'm ready for what's ahead these last 4 months! please pray for my friends mynor, franklin, gloria, karina, and elda who's baptisms are all coming up!!!

we had an amazing meeting this week with Sister Rodarte and one of her friends and they talked about the importance of gratitude! I heard the coolest story I just wanted to share... It's about this man who was given a life sentence in prison but he shares what he learned... , "I've come to believe that the antidote to suffering, the path out of it, is acceptance and gratitude. Acceptance turns "I can't take another day in this ----" into "I am where I am, and yes, it hurts." Gratitude goes a step further. "At least I have clean water and enough food. At least I'm surviving. Thank you." Suffering always arises in the context of inadequacy because you want what you don't have.Acceptance and gratitude flip your context to one of abundance because you are focused on what you do have and are thankful for it. It's the difference between misery and joy and it's available to each of us every moment of the day."

This story showed me that just as this man who was in prison his whole life learned to find ACCEPTANCE & GRATITUDE in it, we too can find gratitude no matter what circumstance we are in!!

LOVE & MISS YOU ALL! have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING & remember to think about all the things you're grateful for.

CON AMOR
